What We Do

  • Seniors

Federation's Aging in Community Initiative will enable Jewish older adults to thrive in their homes and communities, ensuring that San Diego is a vibrant, caring and connected Jewish community for all generations.

  • Chaplaincy Service

The Jewish Community Chaplain ensures no Jew is alone in time of need. Rabbi Dalin responds to the acute pastoral and spiritual needs of unaffiliated Jews in San Diego County who are ill, at end-of-life or experiencing life crises.

  • Community Teen Initiative

The Community Teen Initiative will engage Jewish high school teens and ensure that San Diego will be a vibrant, caring and connected Jewish community for generations to come.

  • Jewish Camp

Federation offers two different programs to help send Jewish kids to Jewish camps - One Happy Camper for first time campers and Federations Needs Based Scholarship.

  • NextGen

NextGen engages Jewish young adults to ensure that San Diego will be a vibrant, caring, and connected Jewish community for generations to come.

  • Shalom San Diego

Federation's Shalom San Diego initiative connects new residents and unengaged Jews to the many diverse pathways to a Jewish life, with special emphasis on reaching out to the growing number of interfaith households.

ISRAEL AND OVERSEAS PROGRAMS

  • Sha'ar HaNegev

Connecting the Jewish community of San Diego with a vibrant region in southern Israel through partnership, social programs and a significant capital project.

  • Birthright San Diego

The Jewish Federation of San Diego is a partner of the Birthright Israel Foundation. Created in 2000, Birthright Israel gives Diaspora Jewry ages 18 to 26 the chance to experience Israel with the gift of a 10-day trip.
